Polypropylene Construction

The polypropylene tank packaged plants are fabricated from polypropylene panels welded by heat fusion. For shipping and handling constraints, the dimensions are limited to 7'w x 8.5'h x 21.5'l / 2.1w x 2.5h x 6.5l m. Composed of one or more bioreactor modules, ECOfluid supplies polypropylene packaged plants for range of treatment capacities of up to 20,000 GPD (100 m³/d) or population equivalent of 350 PE. Larger polypropylene tank packaged plants have been manufactured, however steel or concrete tank construction is generally more cost efficient.

The polypropylene packaged plants are strong but light and easily shippable. Installation is undemanding. After setting the tanks on concrete or compacted sand, pipes are connected and the tanks are backfilled. Typically, the tanks are underground and covered with lockable wooden planks or reinforced plastic lids. The plants are often installed within a proximity to residential housing attesting to the non-odorous operation of the USBF™ system.

Steel Construction

Steel construction packaged plants are shop pre-fabricated from ¼" thick plate, sandblasted and painted before shipment and installation on a concrete pad above or below ground. Plants ranging up to 100,000 GPD (380 m³/d) or population equivalent of 1,200 PE are supplied. Larger steel tank packaged plants have been manufactured, but concrete tank construction is generally more economical.
